Bradbury Mountain State Park

One of five original state parks in Maine, Bradbury Mountain encompasses more than 800 acres of beautiful forested land suitable for hiking, camping, picnicking, and riding (mountain bikes or horses, take your pick). And its proximity is a boon. Situated about halfway between Portland and Lewiston, the recreation area (which may soon grow even bigger; park stewards are hoping to eventually link Bradbury to the Pineland Public Land parcel in nearby New Gloucester) is the perfect spot for an impromptu fall picnic or for playing hooky on a summer afternoon.
