A possible etymology for the term "vaudeville" comes from the French voix de ville, or voice of the city. Talented goth troupe Dark Follies is one of Portland's strong-est voices. They got their start on sidewalks and in Monument Square during First Fridays, and now run a popular stage show as well. Fire twirling, music, dancing, and feats of juggling magic are some of what Dark Follies do so well. Now entering their fifth year, these vaudevillians continue to surprise and delight with their punchy variety shows.
