SOWA OPEN MARKET

After May 1, the wheeled migration begins. Having stirred from their winter slumber, flocks of food trucks will travel to the vast asphalt plains of Harrison Avenue. There, with chromed plumage gleaming in the sun, they will dispense grilled-cheese sandwiches, barbecue, pickles, and cupcakes to the nosh-seeking throngs that descend upon the SOWA OPEN MARKET, every Sunday through October 30. A recent introduction to SoWa's ecosystem, the trucks live in symbiotic harmony with the market's teeming farm stalls and craft tents. Of course, no Open Market safari would be complete without a spin through the antiques fair, where vendors hawk everything from horsehair-stuffed fainting couches and Bakelight jewelry to velvet paintings and ancient board games.
