BEST BOOKSTORE CAT

BOSTON BOOK ANNEX

Sadly, the leading contender in this category, the BOSTON BOOK ANNEX's Guthrie, passed away five months ago at the age of 20. Wakefield, a buff cat that store manager David Fredette said had been Guthrie's companion for five years, is still stunned from the loss but hopes to eventually take over the responsibilities that his pal filled with such effusive charm and feline grace. Lately he's been more able to leave his secluded spot behind the counter and assume his post in a box adjacent to Guthrie's vacant one in the film section. Maybe this honor will encourage him to overcome his grief and continue in his predecessor's tradition. In the meantime, the store offers 100,000 used books that you could spend a pleasant lifetime browsing through.
