As you walk by the Phillips Brooks statue in Copley Square, you might see a man sail past propelled by the very wind: behold, Scooterdude. Richard Coit, secret identity of Scooterdude, uses a plastic sail to propel his scooter, getting around while giving off a vibe rendered impossible by the Segway — coolness. Ordained a Dudeist Priest in 2007 by the Church of Dudeism, his Web footprint has a crusader feel to it. Though recently March wind broke his "mast," his blog, The Practice of Scooterdude-Way says he seeks to "scoot" again. It's good to know he's out there. | scooterdudeboston.blogspot.com
