THE CORNER TAVERN

You can always get a hot holy helping of vegan invention and hipster attitude at the OtherSide Cafe. But down Mass Ave at the CORNER TAVERN (formerly the Last Drop), they've also managed to make magic with a makeshift kitchen, and one that's just a fraction of the size their tattooed neighbors have to work with. Employing just two convection ovens, one panini grill, a salamander broiler, and a slow-cooker (for the killer pulled pork), the Corner Tavern chefs whip up small miracles, from wings and meatloaf to flatbreads, soups, and sliders. And the Tavern's makeshift wonders don't stop there — they don't have live music, either, but the jukebox, when played correctly, sounds like a Funkmaster Flex set at the Tunnel circa 1995.
