The next time you're drunk in Allston, dodge the McDonald's and overpriced pizza joints on Harvard Avenue and grab some Middle Eastern fast food instead. We're talking $5.45 for a giant pita roll-up, stuffed with tender meat, fresh veggies (somehow these cucumbers have more flavor than Mickey D's pickles), and tahini. Waiting for any one of the always-friendly staff to promptly assemble your chicken or beef/lamb shawarma, you'll likely catch yourself ogling AZAMA GRILL's fare while glimmering juices trickle down the meats slow-cooking on spits practically taller than everyone working there. Azama, the grill's fresh-faced Egyptian owner, paints all the still-lifes hanging in his shop — but the cuisine he cooks looks even better than the elaborately depicted foods in his artistic masterpieces. If your feet were fine bar-hopping the hipster strip, those heels will make it from last call to Azama — and your stomach will likely thank you in the morning.
