BEST WAY TO GET OVERWHELMED BY THE HUGE FRINGE THEATER SCENE YOU NEVER KNEW EXISTED IN BOSTON

SMALL THEATER ALLIANCE OF BOSTON

Who among us doesn't love catching a show at a backroom at a bar, only to learn a year later that the band is opening for Black Eyed Peas? And so it goes with theater. Dozens of small companies are toiling away in Boston's fringe spaces. But how to be (or not to be) there, that's the question. Enter: the SMALL THEATRE ALLIANCE OF BOSTON. The organization, which fosters connections and collaborations among its 29 member companies, provides a calendar on its Web site listing all the goings-on around the city. Many are new plays by local scribes (a/k/a: potential Next Big Thing), boosting your chances of being able to say, "I saw that when."
