BEST PLACE TO WATCH CLASSIC OLD MOVIES IN A CLASSIC OLD THEATER

ARTSEMERSON AT PARAMOUNT CENTER

Not only do they not make them the way they used to, they don't show them that way, either. Unless, that is, you go to the film series programmed by ARTSEMERSON, which offer such classics as Strangers on a Train (1951), West Side Story (1961), and Badlands (1973) screened at the splendidly refurbished, nearly 80-year-old rococo movie house, the Paramount. And new films look good screened that way, too, including cutting-edge recent work, such as Nina Menkes's haunting films, or Québécois director Denis Côté's intense Curling (2010).
