A fistful of votes just barely edged local legend Paul Geremia past veteran powerhouse Roomful of Blues, an impressive feat to say the least. But it’s long overdue, for Geremia has been wowing crowds with his virtuoso guitar and vocal skills for more than 40 years. There’s a soulful (and wry) smile attached to the singer/songwriter’s delivery, complementing his “Providence River Delta” spin on the blues. The Rhody native has cut close to a dozen solo records. Be on the lookout for upcoming live gigs (he’s at Nick-a-Nee’s this Saturday, June 16), and pick up a half-dozen of his releases at redhouserecords.com. Geremia’s latest disc is titled Love My Stuff; the readers clearly do.
