London Calling Best Import
Two Door Cinema Club
It’s been more than two years since Two Door Cinema Club dropped debut record Tourist History (released Stateside via Glassnote), and it still retains its freshness as it blitzkriegs new listeners by the day. The Northern Ireland trio’s high-energy indie rock picked up where Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand left off a few years back. Meanwhile, radio-crushing dance-floor singles “What You Know” and “I Can Talk” have extended the band’s shelf life in a manner rarely seen with much-ballyhooed UK buzz acts. In a music culture where keyboards have swallowed guitars, Two Door Cinema Club prove that good, old-fashioned British rock is best served with a mild case of the jitters. The band join fellow BMP National winner Stephie Coplan & the Pedestrians June 14 at the WFNX Seaport Six concert at the Bank of America Pavilion. A modern indie dance party is bound to break out in the aisles.
