In a music scene that’s always had a unique penchant for both rock-opera productions and hard-rock riffs, it was probably only a matter of time before someone had the bright idea to put the two together in the form of a band. So it’s no surprise that that band — Bang Camaro — haven’t had much trouble garnering some heavy-duty attention. If it were just the novelty of having a couple dozen singers vocalizing in unison on stage, that would be one thing. But add songs that are as simple and direct as an AC/DC riff yet as grandiose and melodic as Queen at their boldest, and you’ve got a live show that’s almost certain to be a celebration of everything rock and everything roll, from hammering drums to gutsy guitar solos. It hasn’t hurt that the band got one of their songs on the Guitar Player II video game, either.
