Who would have expected that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir would have some competition for the best thing ever to come out of Utah’s music scene? This co-ed band has certainly thrown down the musical gauntlet, and they are coming close to being the people we’ll call if we have a poltergeist in the office anytime soon. The killer riffs and harmonies that support this SLC band propelled them to the forefront of our minds when it came to finding a group for a state that once hosted the Olympics. Their first album, Let’s Always Hang Out Together, Ok?, is evocative of the best in Best Coast, without all of the cats, references to weed, and Twitter drama. Also, they’re by far the cutest band on this list, with a silly anime style that never feels precocious or outdated. Let’s make it clear: Baby Ghosts are helping to wipe out our memories of the Osmonds, one ghost-themed song at a time.
