WHY THEM? Does anyone else miss Spank Rock? Seattle's Champagne Champagne sure seem to. Having impressed the Beck-sanctioned rapper in Seattle, MC Pearl Dragon opened for Spank Rock on the West Coast leg of his tour. After recording a solo effort in Philadelphia, Dragon formed Champagne Champagne with Thomas Gray and DJ Gajamagic (drummer of Seattle punk band Blood Brothers). Though Pearl Dragon's rhymes don't get anywhere near as nasty as Spank Rock's delightful sixth-grade misogyny, his crew share an irreverent delivery style, offhand lyrics, and unexpected electro beats. Plus, rumor has it they take their shirts off in concert.
